Abstract

The purpose of this research is to test the influences of competitive intensity and firm spesific factor on business strategy and it performance. This research builds a model and eight hypotheses to answer the research problem. The samples size of this research is 40 Bank Perkreditan rakyat (BPR) at Malang Raya for three years 2009-2011. This research is using path analysis by computer programStatistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) as analysis instrument. The effect of this research is showing that research model can be accepted. The effect of this research is showing that competitive intensity, firm spesific factor and business strategy influence to performance; competitive intensity and firm spesific factor influence to business strategy; competitive intensity influences to performance; firm spesific factor influences to performance; business strategy does not influence to performance; competitive intensity does not influence to business strategy; firm spesific factor influences to business strategy; and competitive intensity influences to firm spesific factor. Limitation of this research is the little quantity of samples that using managemen perception, not using ratio. Further research need to increase the quantity of samples, take secunder data so can be get ratio data, and can increase independent variable that can influences to performance like capability government.
